Closed Guard Remains One Of The Best Tools To Clamp And ConTrol From The Bottom
Do you need help understanding some of the newer, more complicated guards being shown nowadays? Although the closed guard has been around since the beginning of jiu jitsu itself, that doesn’t mean it’s not as effective a guard as some of the more complicated ones played in present-day jiu jitsu. With one of the best security provided by both of your legs, the close guard is one of the most underrated systems in modern jiu jitsu. Brianna’s course, “Closed Quarters – A Closed Guard System,” starts with general maintenance of how not to let your opponents get out of closed guard with details of posture breaking and grip fighting. Followed by a high guard chapter, Brianna guides you through a step-by-step structure that leads to multiple submissions such as armbar and, even better, how to perfect your armbar by troubleshooting. Troubleshooting is essential when it comes to jiu jitsu to allow yourself to be ready for any circumstance despite how defensive your opponents would like to be. It ultimately lets you get what you want out of the position without having to fail yourself during the competition, which can cost you a match. You will learn the armbar defense counter against stacking, which is known to be one of the most common ways to defend the armbar defense counter with Brianna. Including the armdrag sequence to your closed guard, you will find a missing piece to your closed guard game.
But as much as Closed guard can offer lots of offenses, it can be frustrating to apply the same tactic against stalling opponents. Creating a chain of offense can take a long time and energy. Thanks to Brianna, she included her tactic against defensive opponents with shoulder crunch sweep, Hip bump, Kimura, and Gilloutine to make them regret thinking they can survive in your closed guard.
And another common reaction you will get playing closed guard is people trying to stand in your closed guard to start unlocking your legs. Coming from the best, you will learn how to strike them with flower sweep, uppercut sweep, triangle, and K guard sequences to make your game stronger.
One of the best parts of this course is topped off with how to pass closed guard yourself. Going over how to keep the posture, putting the knee in the middle, and standing guard pass sequence, you will know exactly what to do if you ever get stuck in someone else’s closed guard.
By the end of the course, you'll be ready to apply the techniques immediately. Unlock all secrets so you can start developing the deadly closed guard; even the people who always reap through your closed guard will have to start thinking twice!
