“Solid Jiu Jitsu! If you want to become an Arm collector, this is your course!”
This stellar review was written by a student of Nathan's course, “16 Armbarz.”
“Jiu Jitsu has defined my life in nearly every way.”
Nathan is a professional black belt jiu jitsu competitor and an instructor who has the biggest love for jiu jitsu. He was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA. His passion for martial arts started at the early age of 4, with karate and the Korean martial art Ho Guk Mu Sul. With his already broad experience in martial arts, he dived full-on into jiu jitsu at age 10. His career as a competitor and instructor started when he was a blue belt, and he quickly became one of the rising stars among adult black belt competitors. He accomplished many victories by participating in world-class events such as IBJJF American Nationals (2020), the IBJJF European Open (2018), and many others. Nathan says, “I love how teaching helps me to better understand my own game and the techniques I use myself. I feel like I only fully understand a technique after I have taught it repeatedly over a long span of time.” With his goal to share his knowledge with the jiu jitsu community as a competitive athlete and an instructor, Nathan brought his course, “16 Armbarz” to JJX users.
Are you comfortable hunting for submissions?
Getting submissions is fantastic and all, but it can be risky since the slightest mistake can allow your opponent to turn the tables and start smashing you. So it is essential to rely on submissions you know you can finish. There has been a study about the highest percentage of submissions at a competition, and the armbar statistically has been used the most compared to any others. Since the use of an armbar is so common in competitions, over time people have come up with numerous ways to defend or counter that type of attack. After having all your hard work thrown down the drain, the last thing you want to do is another armbar attempt. Nathan is here in an effort to resolve any issues with armbars through his latest course, “16 Armbarz”
The course consists of all the armbar related scenarios you may encounter, from entries and troubleshooting to finishing mechanics. The whole armbar system is followed by various sequences where you can apply it from anywhere, whether you are playing guard, mount, or even side control. Here are some of the attacks Nathan chains with the notorious armbar to finish it" or just "chains with the notorious armbar:
Flipping technique
Cross choke
Americana
Head and arm choke
Freeing the arm technique
Every single course with Nathan will only make you more confident going up against the training partners who always seem to stack you or even pull their arms out as you're trying to get the armbar. In 16 Armbarz, Nathan can show you not only how to prevent these defenses, but how to surprise your opponent by using them against them. The second they think they are safe, they will realize the armbar is getting tighter and tighter.
If you have ever felt hesitant about going for the armbar or want to step up your armbar game so nobody can escape, here is a perfect opportunity to turn a small investment into a whole lot of armbars!
