Biography
Andy Varela is a 10th Planet jiu jitsu black belt under Casey Halstead. Varela first made some waves in the grappling world after competing in the Submission Underground (SUG) event, a promotion led by former UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen. Today, Andy is known as one of the most exciting fighters to watch in the -77kg division with fast-paced, high-flying, and darce hunting submissions as shown at the 2022 ADCC West Coast Trials where he bagged himself a silver medal.
Andy believes that a common misconception about wrestling is that it's difficult, this is why he recorded a course with Jiu Jitsu X... to show you how to take advantage of small details to get your opponent to the ground with as little energy as possible. Suitable for everyone, white to black belt level.
