In the finals of the Orlando Open Absolute, we saw Renato Canuto and Michael Liera scrap for the gold
Down in Florida, the IBJJF Orlando International open brought forth some of the best competitors in the World. In the tournament’s “main event” two of the lighter guys in the bracket squared-off for the gold. Renato Canuto fought none other than fellow Jiu Jitsu X instructor Michael Liera. After a fierce battle, it was Renato that ended up by for points on the scoreboard.
Below you can enjoy a quick highlight of the techniques Renato used to secure the gold. You may notice that he is using a lot of Overpowered Outside Passing, which happens to be the subject of his popular course, right here on Jiu Jitsu X.
Michael ended up walking away with two silvers, while also demonstrating his exceptional guard game, that he outlines in his guard-building course – The Guardian. He fought 8 times.
Nathiely De Jesus wins again, submitting Kendall Reusing at F2W
Hey do you remember that time when Nathi beat Gabi Garcia in nogi, becoming the first person ever 2 beat her twice under 2 different rulesets? Jiu Jitsu X Farms remembers as it wasn’t that long ago. Well there’s no rest for Nathiely, because she defended her belt at F2W and won via choke from the back. She faced the spirited Kendall Reusing who brought forth some good exchanges.
So who’s stopping Nathiely? She seems to be on the path to greatness and might be a real-life Wonderwoman. She wields a different kind of Lasso of Truth. This kind:
-
The Spider X$119.99
-
Overpowered Passing$99.99
