Let us break it to you. Knowing how to execute a guard pass is easy, knowing how to execute it while someone more experienced than you is trying to sweep or submit you, not so much. Yes, Renato is known for high-flying guard passes and submissions, but he’s also known for being extremely hard to grip and control. Now let me ask you a question… Can you sweep or submit someone that you can’t get a grip on? I don’t think so.
If your plan is letting your opponent get to their best grips first and then trying to not let them sweep you, you’re already a couple of steps behind and playing the defensive. Why would you gift them your collars and sleeves just like that? Guard players hate one thing, and that is not being able to control the person standing in front of them. It frustrates them, it makes them not want to train with you in the training room, and competitors wish they don’t fight you in their first match.
This course is concept-based and will be all about how to move and keep yourself in the green safe zone and pass on the outside while learning how to read what your opponent’s reactions are and taking advantage of them to pass their guard. Remember, the more reactions your opponent gives you, the more you will know what’s coming next. Renato will teach you how to get your opponent to show you their intentions and how to use them to your advantage.

This is my 1st video I`ve bought or watched. I`ve been doing BJJ for about a year now and I have to say I really Like Renato`s course. The 1st 1/3 of the course was the best for me. Just hearing someone break down how to attack and pass was very valuable to me. Later in the course there are some techinques that are just slightly beyond my ability currently. I`ll need to master the passing before I attempt OP flying armbars. The only downside to this course is the lack of training partners to practice with.
This course made me want to pick up another course
I have watched many videos and many courses so far, but I am most satisfied with the course. If you are a fan of Renato Canuto or if you like his pass, I recommend buying this course. This includes everything from "passing" to necessary movements, not just "passing."
