Do you find yourself purposely late for class because you hate the monotonous drills you have to do during the warm-up?

You’re not alone. It’s time to stop shrimping and start focusing on essential drills that will take you from pony learning how to walk to galloping stallion. Improve timing, sharpen your skill and effortlessly transition from one position to the next with Andris Brunovskis’ Drills and Skills.

If you take a multivitamin once or twice it’ll do nothing, drilling is the same.

If you’re thinking about jiu jitsu, it’s gonna be a lot harder for you to land your techniques. The whole point of drilling is to get so comfortable with the movement that eventually it becomes muscle memory. Techniques need to be ingrained into your system through consistent practice.

In this course, you’ll not only learn how to effectively drill techniques such as so that you can spend less time thinking and more time flexing your quick as lightning attacks and counters but you’ll also learn how to correctly implement drills into your training regimen.

Target Audience

  • Grapplers who want to sharpen their jiu jitsu foundations

Secrets of Innovative Jiu Jitsu for When You’re Feeling Uninspired

We all get in a rut sometimes. A little uninspired. Our creativity is a little drained. We’re not sure how to reinvigorate our desire to explore.

When this begins to apply to your training too, it can feel like you’re just going through the motions, and not in a good way.

Maybe you’re getting caught in the same thing over and over. Maybe you’re being bested by training partners you can normally manhandle all over the mats. It’s frustrating. But it doesn’t have to be.

Worried you’ll never get past this rut?

You will! It could just be that training with the same people in the same gym day after day, week after week, isn’t introducing you to new ideas and new obstacles. These are both vital to progression.

Many top athletes travel and train year-round, continuously exposing themselves to different training environments and as a result adding new concepts to their technique arsenal. But of course, we can’t all necessarily do that.

Not sure how to expose yourself to new concepts?

One of the best, easiest, and most affordable ways to gain new knowledge is right here online. And Andris Brunovskis’ library of techniques here on Jiu Jitsu X is an excellent place to start.

You don’t have to travel to learn valuable techniques. You don’t even have to leave your house if you don’t want to.

How can Andris’ courses help?

Andris Brunovskis discovered jiu jitsu at the age of 16 while living in Ohio. His family soon moved to Sacramento, where Andris found a new home gym to train at. He divided his time between Ohio and California, training and competing throughout the US.

During his early competitive phase he developed a reputation for innovative techniques, and was picked up by Lloyd Irvin to train under him in Maryland. When Irvin’s team later disbanded, Andris moved to San Diego to train under André Galvão at Atos HQ (one of the most respected academies in the world). There, he was awarded his jiu jitsu black belt and eventually moved on to become a head instructor at Legion AJJ, owned by long-time training partner Keenan Cornelius.

Andris achieved multiple world championship gold medals as a competitor, but now largely focuses on the success of his students. His own jiu jitsu journey took him to a variety of gyms and faced him off against some of the sport’s top competitors.

He’s now able to translate that experience into training everyone from first-time students to up-and-coming stars. And all of this knowledge is neatly packaged into his courses too!

What exactly will I learn from Andris’ courses?

With many specialties, there isn’t much you can’t learn from Andris. That being said, his current courses focus largely on:

  • Lapel guard techniques

  • Omoplatas

  • Passing techniques

  • Improving transitions

  • Improving basics

His skill as an instructor shines through in the way he structures his courses. These are not simply “step 1, step 2, step 3” style instructionals. They are instead assembled so the student has multiple options and can apply their own specialties and preferences to Andris’ concepts. This gives you the perfect framework for innovation within your own game.

Where does this innovative spirit come from?

The world may never know.

But truthfully, there’s a huge part of jiu jitsu that can often be neglected, and that is training your mind to think strategically. Some, like Andris, seem to do this intuitively.

Even off the mats, Andris can regularly be found hours-deep into some strategy board game or another.

You can also learn to seek inspiration from outside training, but these courses are a great way to give yourself a little kick in the butt in the meantime.

Still not sure learning from Andris will help?

Andris’ Jiu Jitsu X courses are being eagerly consumed by well over 3500 students, and counting. One such student took the time to write this five star review for Lapelapalooza

“Lapelapalooza was my first insight into Andris. And dare I say it - I would put Andris on the Mount Rushmore of Modern BJJ Instructions alongside with Danaher, Keenan, and Ryan Hall. Andris is great in communicating details, and he is really creative on his take on the Lapel Guard. For example, in RDLW, I`ve had the hardest time figuring out how to elevating my knee above the opponent`s knee. After watching Andris`s segments on these topics, I can more easily accomplish this.”

There are also a handful of free techniques available for every single course! Just click on any one of them and you’re on your way.
